AIRD, in collaboration with Suzlon Foundation, recently launched an initiative to protect and restore the sparrow population in rural communities. Sparrows, once a common sight in many villages, have seen their numbers decline due to urbanization, habitat loss, and environmental changes. To address this issue, cardboard bird nests were distributed across key locations to provide these birds with a safe place to nest and breed.
Through this initiative, AIRD and Suzlon Foundation provided dozens of eco-friendly cardboard nests to community members, schools, and local organizations. The nests were designed to be lightweight and easy to install on rooftops, balconies, and trees, offering immediate shelter to sparrows.

Community involvement was central to the campaign, with awareness sessions organized to educate locals about the importance of sparrow conservation and the proper installation of these nests. Participants, including children and farmers, were enthusiastic about making a difference in their environment by welcoming birdsback into their villages and preserving sparrows.
Focusing on simple but impactful actions that engage the community. The distribution of bird nests not only supports the recovery of sparrow populations but also encourages greater awareness of the role every individual can play in preserving biodiversity.
